The Venue

The World Forum The Hague was chosen as the preferred venue for the IB Global Conference for the fourth time. The venue provides enough flexibility and meets the needs of an international conference which is growing year on year. The venue supported the conference programme with a large plenary room, lots of exhibition space, areas for delegates to network, and the capacity for 100 breakout sessions.

This is the first time I attend this type of event and I am truly impressed. Not just by the event organisation, but because it’s a great opportunity to learn from the best.

IB Global Conference in The Hague

1600 international delegates have come to The Hague for the largest Global Conference of International Baccalaureate to date. Watch this video to see why The Hague and the World Forum The Hague have been their preferred destination for the fourth time.

The City

The 2017 conference theme, Inspiring Communities, played a large role in the content created for the attendees. Event organisers created a programme which encouraged the community members in The Hague to participate in the event. Members of The Hague community submitted knowledge sharing proposals they could present to the IB community. The city is home to one of the main IB offices in the world.

The Hague has been a special community with a family feel, and we have a long-term relationship which is excellent and unique.

The Support

The Hague Convention Bureau has a wide network of venue partners across the city. Therefore, conference organisers opted for a different choice of venue for the dinner and entertainment for delegates. The Louwman Museum’s open space allowed delegates to move easily between the museum, reception, and the entertainment area. Conference organisers strategically used spaces within the museum, so networking opportunities could easily transition from the event into the social programme.
