Silver M&IT Award for The Hague

The Hague Convention Bureau received the Silver M&IT Award 2017 for Best Overseas Convention Bureau. The Hague’s Silver is the fifth time the city won an M&IT Award. In total, THCB was awarded two Gold and three Silver awards over the past 6 years. This showcases the ongoing effort THCB puts into establishing the city as a preferred business destination of UK event planners.

‘The Silver M&IT is a great accolade and it emphasises the hard work and passion that the team puts into making The Hague accessible to the event organizers from the United Kingdom’, said Nienke van der Malen – van der Host the director of THCB.

The M&IT Awards are the longest-standing industry awards, celebrating their 30th anniversary this year. This anniversary edition attracted a stronger competition than in the previous years. The Hague was up against some very established nominees such as Dubai and Canada, as well as the other award winners -  Monaco and Malta.

‘We’re thrilled to be back on stage at the M&IT Awards, and to have such wonderful support from the UK event planning community that have put us there,’ said  Paul Swain who represents THCB in the UK.

The M&IT Awards are voted by UK-based event planners, which are independently audited by the Audit Bureau of Circulation. Only UK buyers determine the results which makes the award an accurate reflection of the UK buyers’ experience.

‘We thank all the event planners who have voted for The Hague’, said Nienke van der Malen – van der Host. ‘Their vote of confidence in our personal and creative approach gives us the inspiration to provide outstanding service year on year.’
